5 tips for flavored water

Do you want to get better at drinking water but find the taste boring? Here are our 5 best recipes for flavored water.

Many people want to learn to drink more water and know they are not getting enough. But 1.5-3 liters of water per day is a lot of liquid, especially if you don’t like the taste. We recommend that you give the new habit a week. Often you get used to it quickly because water is a natural part of your body.

Here are our top tips on how to flavor your water naturally:

  • Frozen blueberries. The berries provide a smooth flavor that goes with everything from coffee to food. This is something that children love, especially in summer, as the frozen berries keep the drink cold.
  • Lime and lemongrass. Looks very luxurious and gives a fresh and refreshing taste. Cut the lemongrass stalks lengthwise, crush the ends and add them to the jug along with the lime wedges. Let stand with water in the fridge for about two hours before serving.
  • Blood orange and ginger. A different and colorful variant. Coarsely chop the ginger before adding it to the water so it releases more flavor. Then squeeze in some blood orange juice. The water then takes on an elegant red hue.
  • Lemon and cucumber. Lemon water is a classic. Add some cucumber slices for a cool contrast to the tart lemon juice.
  • Melon and mint. Cut one or two slices from a ripe melon of your choice. Two of our favorites are watermelon and galia melon. Add sprigs of fresh mint. Feel free to chop the mint for more flavor.

I hope you feel like trying some of the flavours!

No matter how you drink your water, it is good to drink plenty of plain water every day.

"Drinking water is like washing out your insides. The water will cleanse the system, fill you up, decrease your caloric load and improve the function of all your tissues".
