We have all chosen our lifestyle for different reasons. We can also choose to make different changes throughout our lives. Often the change doesn’t have to be that big to make a huge difference in quality of life.
Small everyday changes can make a big difference to your wellbeing. What would you like to test?
Look at this list of small changes. Which ones could you implement? And what difference in your life could the change make?
- Go to bed an hour earlier Sunday-Thursday but keep the late nights on weekends.
- Eat vegetables with your pizza or hamburger (if you eat these foods).
- Eat sweets and snacks only one day a week.
- Cook at home at the weekend and make food boxes for the working week.
- Take a walk to work or park your car a block away. Get off the bus earlier.
- Take the stairs more often than the lift (the times you can choose).
- Every night, write down what you are grateful for today.
- Plan your week in advance. Both at work and at home.
- Book a walk with a friend - once or several times a week.
- Get up 15 minutes earlier every morning
- Try a new activity that raises your heart rate.
- Prepare clothes the day before. Pack your bag and prepare a lunch box.
- Listen to an audio book and go for a walk - enjoy.
- Drink two glasses of water instead of snacks and coffee.
- Make sure you have 50% vegetables on your plate.
- Start buying healthy food from a REKO ring.
- Try meditating once a day. Download an app or find it on Spotify/Youtube.
- Greet at least one stranger with a smile every day. Sometimes a nod and a smile is enough.
- Drink coffee only in the morning - instead of 5-8 cups during the day.
These changes, on their own, do not make much of a difference to your life. In the long run, however, they can make a big difference to your well-being.
Dare to try some of them for four weeks! Choose 3-5 suggestions to use to improve your health. Write them down on a piece of paper or on your phone. Do one of these things today.
What difference do they make to you?
